INFORMATION ABOUT GRANADA

1. To visit the Alhambra. World Heritage Site, the complex of the Alhambra and the Generalife is the most emblematic, known and visited monument of Granada and Spain and the second most visited monument in Europe.




2. To visit the Park of the Sciences of Granada. Visiting the Park of the Sciences is to enter a different world. A world where the visitor wil have the knowledge of the science history on the tip of the fingers.




3. To visit the Albaicín quarter. The Albaicín (World Heritage Site) is one of the districts with more enchantment and history of the city of Granada, where you can enjoy probably the best and more romantic views of the Alhambra from Granada.





4. To go to a Flamenco Show in a house-cave in the Sacromonte quarter. The Sacromonte quarter is one of the most colourful and different quarters of the city of Granada, which mostly represent Andalusian traditions in nowadays: hot-blooded dances, guitar plays, beautiful songs, where singers represent all that Andalusian people felt during the centuries, etc.








5. To Ski in Sierra Nevada. In the South of Spain, in an earth blessed by the Sun, there are two important peaks of Spain: the highest peak of the Iberian Peninsula (Mulhacén with 3,478 metres) and the third highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula (Veleta with 3.395,68 metres) of the highest summits of the Sierra Nevada Massif guarantee the abundance of quality snow in the most Southern Ski resort of Europe.



6. To Swim in the beaches of the Tropical Coast of Granada or to just to have a walk in the seaside and enjoy the benefits of the sea breeze. There are tenths of beaches and small inlets of crystal-clear water, 320 sunny days a year and an average temperature of 20º C.





7. To Know the Architecture of the Alpujarra and make rural tourism in this mountain area full of white villages. To know the architecture of the Alpujarra region is to make a trip in the time until finding its origins in the Berbers tribes who inhabited this area many centuries ago.





8. To Travel to any other point in Andalusia. Granada has a strategic position wich allows to travel to ather beautiful andalusian cities such as Cordoba, Malaga and Siviglia.





9. To go shopping. Granada is an ideal place to go shopping. To let you take and cross its streets visiting stores and markets is an attractive and colourful form to make contact with its culture and its people. Granada counts on the biggest Open Commercial Centre in Andalusia, which means that the concentration of shops in Granada city centre is so big that it looks like a commercial centre but in the open-air.





10. To Enjoy the Tapas and the Cuisine from Granada. Granada is famous by the small portions of food that are served with your drink at most of bars for free! This is the best way to get to know the local cuisine and tasting many different specialities of the area: patatas a lo pobre (fried potatoes mixed with eggs and vegetables), fried assorted fish, pinchitos (grilled meat served on a stick), etc.
